The successful incumbent for this position will be hired at the hourly rate of $26.50.

POSITION SUMMARY:
The Seasonal Land Aide works under the direction of the Property Specialist to maintain the Azwell property
below Wells Dam. This position is seasonal and expected to last from May to October.
This position is subject to a one-year probationary period.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
• Perform an array of landscape maintenance duties including fence building, irrigation repair, and debris
hauling.
• Mow grounds.
• Support the District’s mission and value statements in the performance of job duties.
• Work respectfully and cooperatively with diverse groups of people and maintain professional interactions at
all times in the workplace.
• Ensure compliance with all District policies.
• Adhere to the District’s Safety Policy and Procedures.
• Operate District vehicles that may be equipped with a GPS device that monitors vehicle location while
conducting business on behalf of the District.
• Other duties as assigned.

Due to the nature and scope of the essential functions, the importance of personal interactions between this
position, employees, customers, and other members of the public, and the availability of job-related tools,
equipment and resources at work, performance of the essential functions requires regular, consistent, on-site
attendance while working independently and with others.
This position is designated as safety sensitive.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:
• Ability to operate equipment such as mowers and tractors.
• Experience operating a wide variety of hand and power tools.
• Ability to perform physical labor for extended periods of time.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Experience performing manual labor preferred.

CERTIFICATIONS:
Must possess or obtain and maintain:
• A valid driver's license and proof of good driving record is required for this position (will be verified
upon job offer). Out-of-state candidates must acquire a Washington State driver's license within 30 days
of employment.
• Public Pesticide Operator’s license covering categories AB (agriculture weed control), OB (ornamental
weed control), and a right-of-way weed endorsement is a plus.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
• Must be able to work outside in all types of weather conditions, including extreme heat and cold, dust,
pollen, wind, smoke and rain.
• Ability to work in elevated areas and climb ladders.
• Must be able to walk long distances on both pavement and uneven terrain.
• Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds on a regular basis.
